Benefit Roller Lash Mascara // REVIEW

Hello lovelies!
Today I thought I'd give you my thoughts on the new Benefit Roller Lash mascara. I am pretty sure it launched last month, and I finally managed to get my hands on it as well. I got to try it out for a few days now and I think I am ready to give you my full and honest opinion on it.

Packaging: The packaging is incredibly adorable. The top, pinky part is a rubber material while the actual black tube is plastic, of course. I love the cute font they used to write "Roller Lash" as well as the top part where the wand is attached. They really overdid themselves with this cute packaging. Loving it

Wand: The wand on the mascara is a plastic wand, just like on the They're Real mascara. They differ though, in the way the wand is shaped. With the Roller Lash mascara the wand is curved, also the bottom bristles are longer while the inner, top bristles that you use to apply the mascara are very short and tiny. The curved wand and the formula are supposed to give your lashes a natural, long lasting curl

Formula: The formula isn't too wet and not too dry either. I think the formula itself is great, it is easy to remove (not like the They're Real mascara from Benefit). The only downside I find with that is that when you're used to using the They're Real which is very long lasting and smudge-proof - you will be bummed by how easily this one smudges. Especially now that summer comes along I am not quite sure if this is the perfect mascara for the warmer months.

Performance: Even though the Roller Lash mascara is supposed to curl your lashes without using an eyelash curler, I still use an eyelash curler beforehand because my eyelashes are quite straight naturally and I like long, curved lashes to give me bigger eyes. Since the lashes on my eyes are very different (my left eye has shorter lashes, there is more of them and they tend to fall down after some time, while my right eye has long, more curved lashes which seem to get coated with mascara easier) I tend to get the best of both worlds when it comes to giving an opinion on mascaras. On my right eye, it performs great - it makes the lashes even longer, it seperates them very nicely. It honestly looks like I am wearing false lashes. On my left eye however, it tends to clump the lashes together and does not keep the curl in them either, they still fall down after around 30 minutes and you can really tell a difference between both lashes which is not really a nice look in my opinion.

All in all I think it's a nice mascara for people with quite curved and "perfect" lashes by nature. If you have a lot of lashes that are quite straight, I don't think it works that much magic. It is a very lenghtening mascara, does not give volume whatsoever. So if you are a volume kind of gal - you might pass on this one. If you love long spidery lashes - give it a shot.

If I had to choose between Roller Lash and the They're Real mascara both by Benefit, I would definitely go with They're Real. It is by far my favourite mascara of all time. And even though I try out quite a few new mascaras, They're Real is still my holy grail.

Hope this could help out some of you!

xox, Julia
