Updated // Skincare Routine 2017

I barely wear makeup on a day to day basis, so keeping my skin looking fresh and awake and clear from breakouts or blackheads is key for those no makeup days.

Currently my skin has been doing a lot better when it comes to redness and bumps, thanks to my skincare routine and the products that I have recently been using. I like to keep it minimal and don't pile on product after product because if you use too many products on your skin, no matter how great they are, your skin might react the opposite way of how it should. Always try to keep your skincare to a minimum, also don't change products too too often, so your skin is not getting overworked.

1. Morning Routine

First thing I do in the bathroom after I got up is washing my face. I currently use the Bebe Quick & Clean Peeling+Cleanser. I alternate between this and the Bebe Quick & Clean Cleanser+Eye Makeup Remover. Whenever I run out with the one I had been using, I go ahead and purchase the other one. I find that they work really well without irritating my sensitive skin.

After washing my face, I go ahead and apply my serum. I currently love the The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 which I use daily. After I let my serum soak into my skin for a few minutes, I continue with my actual moisturizer. I've been using the L'oreal Skin Perfection Correcting Day Moisturizer for years and years, I love it. A lot of moisturizers break me out or make my skin feel quite heavy which I don't like, so I have been sticking with this one ever since it came out. As far as I know, it did get discontinued, the entire Skin Perfection range by L'oreal, so I'm slowly trying to find a good alternative (I do have 2 more back-ups of it though so I have enough time to find another moisturizer I truly love).

Usually that completes my skincare routine in the morning. If I feel like my skin needs a little extra boost, I go in with the Mario Badescu Rose Water Spray or the Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist to give my face a little extra moisture.

2. Evening Routine

On an everyday basis, I don't wear makeup throughout the day, I just leave my skin as it is. If that is the case, I basically do the exact same steps as I did in the morning.

Wash my face with the Bebe Quick & Clean Peeling+Cleanser, then I follow up with serums. The first one I use currently is the The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%, which I let sink into my skin while I brush my teeth (I do so in the morning as well, between my serum and moisturizer). After that absorbed into my skin, I use the same The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 as I do in the mornings. With the Lactic Acid, it recommends to only use once a day, preferably in the evening. With the Hyaluronic one, you can use it twice a day so that's exactly how I use them.

Once both my The Ordinary products have absorbed into my skin, it is time to go in with my L'oreal Skin Perfection Correcting Day Moisturizer again (yes, I use a day moisturizer in the evening as well; I just don't like the little more heaviness night moisturizers have).

If I did wear makeup that day, I like to go in first with my Garnier Micellar Water on a cotton round and remove my eye makeup, which usually works pretty good and fast with that micellar water by Garnier. I have to say, it's probably one of my favourite micellar waters on the market. After that, I follow up with the routine above.
