My Top 10 Beauty & Skincare Favourites of 2018

I have done many many fashion / handbag related blogpost in the past couple of months, so it's definitely time to switch it up again and share my love for beauty and skincare. I found a couple of amazing products in 2018 that I use regularly and couldn't live without.

Of course I use way more products but I made sure to only mention the ones that I actually truly love and are my favourites. For example I'm not mentioning any brow products because I use many different ones and none of them are a true game-changer for me, they all just do what they're supposed to.

1. Too Faced - Born This Way, Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer

This is my go-to concealer that I also love to use as a foundation. Ever since I discovered this one, I haven't used any other concealer/foundation again. I find that the colour matches perfectly which is really hard to find for my fair skin. The coverage is also amazing, it covers up the redness around my nose and on my cheeks amazingly and also my dark circles are covered up nicely. It gives my face an even skin tone and makes me look fresher.

It works well with my sensitive skin and doesn't break me out, the only thing I notice is that if I use make-up for several days straight, I might get a few clogged pores but they're usually easily removed and gone the next day.

I purchased mine on Douglas.

2. Chanel - Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzer

I wanted to try this product for ages but could never bring myself to spend that much money on a bronzer, especially since there is only one shade and it always looked really orange on photos online. This summer I got to go to Venice with my parents and my fiancé, where I popped into the Chanel Beauty counter and the lovely SA there applied the bronzer to my face. I fell in love with the shade and the natural bronzed look it gave me and had to take it home with me.

I use it every single day that I do my make up, mostly I layer it with my next favourite though because I love an extremely bronzy look.

I know it's pricey, but if you want to buy it, you can now get it on Douglas

3. Physicians Formula - Butter Bronzer

This is definitely my favourite bronzer of all time. Not only does it smell heavenly, the colour works really nicely with my skin tone. It's not too pigmented where you can easily look like an Oompa Loompa but not too sheer where you have to spend 15 minutes applying your bronzer. It's the perfect in-between and makes me look beautifully sun-kissed. It blends nicely without skipping or leaving you with patches of bronzer on your cheeks.

I also find it doesn't emphasize dryness or large pores either which is always great, especially if you have dry skin like me.

If you want to purchase it, you can get it on Douglas or LookFantastic.

4. MAC - Double Gleam, Extra Dimension Skinfinish

Highlighter is probably my favourite make-up product in my routine and as you might guess, I have a lot of different ones. The Extra Dimension Skinfinish in shade "Double Gleam" is by far my favourite though. It has more of a golden, champagne tone to it which barely ever works with my fair skin but this one just has the perfect shade for me. It's also quite intense which I love and doesn't add gross big chunks of glitter either. It's definitely my most worn highlighter of 2018.

Purchase it now on Douglas or LookFantastic and try it yourself.

5. Morphe - Continuous Setting Mist

I'm not big on setting mists, I use different ones all the time because I feel like most of the time, they don't really change the way my make up looks and don't help prolong my make up either so I haven't found one specific setting mist that I cannot live without, but the Morphe one is really good.

I like that the mist is extremely fine and you barely notice it going on your face because it just really is that fine of a mist. It doesn't make me too matte but also doesn't give you a super wet, shiny face either. It just sets the make up and melts all the products together perfectly.

Luckily, Morphe is now available on Douglas.

6. Benefit - Bad Gal Bang Mascara

Definitely my favourite mascara of 2018. Mascara is another product that I use so many different ones, I'm always on the hunt for a new mascara that makes my eyelashes even longer and thicker. I have decent lashes to begin with, they're pretty long but quite light in colour and not curled at all. I find that this mascara holds a curl really nicely and they don't completely drop down again in a few hours. It lifts them up and holds them, it gives a nice black colour to my lashes and makes them super long. It doesn't add the most volume to your lashes but I don't mind it. I'd rather have long, separated lashes than really thick short ones that look like you put your dogs hair on your lashes.

I also don't notice any transfer during the day, no panda eyes with this mascara. It removes easily in the evening though and is also easily removed if you get it on your lids while putting it on.

Purchase it now on Douglas.

7. The Face Shop - Rice Water Bright Light Cleansing Oil

My favourite cleansing oil that I re-purchased many many times this year. I only use it when I wore make-up that day because I just don't feel like I need it on my no-make-up days.

It really removes my make up, even my mascara (I did not try waterproof mascara with it though, I don't even own waterproof mascara).

Since it is an oil, I do like to go in with a second cleanser after my make-up is removed, just to make sure I don't have any grease on my face and have the make-up removed completely. It's always nice to double-cleanse if you wore make up to make sure it's all gone and doesn't get to clog your pores during the night.

8. COSRX - Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser

This has changed my life. It's my all-time favourite cleanser and I don't know what I'd do if they ever discontinued it. I use it in the morning, just by its own and follow up with my daily moisturizer to get my skin ready for the day. In the evenings, I use it again, either on its own if I didn't wear any make up that day, and if I did, I will use it right after my Rice Water Cleansing Oil to get rid of any access that the oil might not have gotten off.

It doesn't dry out my skin and it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin either. It's really gentle and good for sensitive skin, it's super lightweight and just leaves your skin clean and fresh.

You can purchase this on LookFantastic.

9. Laneige - Lip Sleeping Mask

I might be a little too obsessed with this product. I first tried it out in a little sample size and fell in love, I immediately ordered a big tub of it and love using it in the evenings to have my lips really moisturized during the night.

The only thing that's slightly bothering is the fact that is comes in a tub and you have to dig your fingers in every time. I searched and found out they have a "Lip Glowy Balm" as well which comes in a squeeze tube and works nicely during the day. It's not as heavy and rich as their "Lip Sleeping Mask" but I find it a lot easier to re-apply during the day and the moisturizing level is completely fine for day time.

10. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil

I would have never thought that I'd ever put oil on my face. Even though my skin is extremely dry, it's also super sensitive and anything that's just a little too heavy will break me out around my nose immediately. For that reason, I always tried to avoid oils but when I read reviews on the different oils that The Ordinary has to offer, I decided to try the Rose Hip Seed Oil and fell in love.

I'm currently on my second bottle which is almost running out now and I'm definitely going to repurchase it. I only use it in the evenings though because it does leave your skin oily for a bit and I don't like the feeling during the day. In the night it's an amazing hydrator and works amazing for my dry, sensitive skin. I never break out from it, it doesn't clog my pores and makes my skin glow and hydrated. The first few times that I used this oil, I looked in the mirror and was like "Wow, my skin looks so glowy and young, I can't believe it".

It does have a yellow tint to it but it doesn't transfer to the skin at all, you rub it in with your fingers and you have no tint at all, so don't get scared. It's not going to make your skin look orange.

If you want to try it out for yourself, you can now get The Ordinary on Douglas or LookFantastic.

    1. They're really nice! I've been using only powder bronzers for a week now and I feel like my bronzer just doesn't look as nice and blend as well without the Chanel one as a base
