Lookfantastic Beauty Box January 2022 // Unboxing, Review

Are you looking for a monthly beauty subscription box but don't know which one to go for? Or are you looking for a beauty box in Austria specifically? Look no further. I'm trying out the Lookfantastic box for 6 months to give you an idea of the range of products that come in their box, tell you about the costs and total worth of the products each month. Let's get started.

General Information about the Lookfantastic Box

There are 4 different types of subscriptions that you can go for with this subscription box:
- Choose just specific one month for 20€
- Subscribe for 3 months in a row for 18€ each
- or for 6 months for 17€ each
- or for 12 months for 15,50€ each

If you live in Austria and decide to purchase just one month to try out, you do have to pay for shipping. The Lookfantastic box ships from Poland within Europe. If you decide to purchase a subscription of 3, 6 or 12 months, the shipping will be free from the second box to the rest, the shipping of the first box does have to be paid.

The box comes with 6 different products each month with a worth of each box around 50-100€ depending on the products and the size of them. Each box usually ships within the first few days of the new month, but this time it got a bit delayed as I only just received my box middle of last week. Also, if you subscribe within a month, you will receive the first box right away and then get the second box at the beginning of the next month.

Each box comes with a monthly magazine called "Edit" which explains each product in detail, how to use it, the story behind the theme of the box, etc. Sometimes you get a physical copy of the magazine, but they're currently changing it to a card with a QR code that you can scan and it takes you to the online version of the Edit magazine. In November I received only the QR code while this month, I received the actual magazine.

Lookfantastic Beauty Box, January 2022

This month's theme is "Wellness". The box has this gorgeous pastel mint shade that I personally find a very calming colour. The theme has been chosen as a start for the new year, all about your personal wellness; from the inside to the outside, we're wiping away the old and bringing in the new. The box is supposed to represent the fresh, new beginnings that the new year will bring.

The first product in the box is the Skin Chemist Rose Quartz Lip Plump; it's a full-size product that I literally cannot find to purchase anywhere but apparently retailed for $26,99.

As the name would suggest, this is a product that boosts the volume of your lips and also adds shine; it also has a really pretty sheer pink tint to it. The main ingredients in this product are Peppermint oil and Mica. Peppermint oil is often used in plumping products as it stimulates circulation which leads to a swelling effect or a so-called "plumped lip look".

The second product is the Bloom & Blossom Age-defying Hand Cream; it contains 15ml of product and is a sample size while the original has 50ml and retails for 21€ on Niche-Beauty; which makes the sample size worth around 6,30€. This hand cream is formulated with Shea Butter and Ylang Ylang; it is supposed to be great for cold winter months and lock in hydration.

The third product in the box is the This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray. This spray contains 10ml and is a sample-size product; the full size contains 75ml and retails for 22,45€ on LookFantastic; so the sample spray is worth 2,99€.

As the ingredients are Lavender and Wild Chamomile, this really is the perfect pillow spray. Lavender and Chamomile are both such calming scents, perfect to make you fall asleep at night.

Next product I received is the Ahava Deadsea Water Mineral Shampoo. For the January box, there were several different Ahava hair products that were randomly given out, I happened to receive the Mineral Shampoo. It contains 40ml and is a travel size; the full-size product contains 400ml and retails for 29,95€ on Zalando; this makes the sample product worth 2,99€. Basically, this is just a gentle shampoo and is used like a regular hair shampoo.

Also, everyone gets two mystery products in this month's box. The first mystery product I received is the Polaar "Neige Éternelle" Youthful Promise Cream; this contains 20ml and the full-size has 50ml and retails for 48,95€ on LookFantastic; doing the math, this tube has a value of 19,58€.

This is a moisturizer that targets fine lines, ruddiness and imperfections. It has a snow-like texture and promotes a powdery, fresh finish.

The other product I received is the Bubble T Lavender Tea Body Wash; it contains 100ml which is a good size to travel but I cannot find the product anywhere anymore; seems like it is discontinued or the entire brand is being discontinued. It seems though that the 200ml full-size product retailed for 3,45€.

Adding up all the prices, the value of the January box is around 58,50€ which is a little less than the usual value of the LookFantastic Beauty Box. Again, the box costs 17€ per month so it is still a good deal though.
