COMPARISON // BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector (Moonstone)

As you probably saw in my recent make-up haul, I purchased the oh so famous Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in the colour Moonstone. I was debating on what colour to get forever but decided to go with Moonstone (instead of Opal or Champagne Pop) because I am quite fair so I thought this colour will just be the most suitable for me.

I don't want to go too much into detail about the highlighter itself because we all know the Becca highlighters are famous for their amazing pigmentation, their soft texture and amazing effect they give on the skin. I was really on the fence about them because they are quite expensive for a highlighter (since you cannot get them in Austria and I had to order them online), but everyone really seems to love them so I decided to give them a go.

I absolutely do not regret purchasing it one bit, I love the shade, I love the texture, I love that it's not glittery but rather gives this amazing sheen on the cheeks. Absolutely stunning highlighter.

But since I know the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors are quite hard to get your hands on if you are from Europe, I decided to do some swatches of the highlighters that I own, comparing them to Becca's Moonstone because I found it quite difficult to decide on a shade just from the google swatches. I know there are some swatches comparing the highlighter to other brands but I wanted to give you swatches of my collection anyway.

So the beauty we are comparing to other highlighters is this one right here

Absolutely gorgeous, isn't it?

I wanted to compare Becca Moonstone to all the other highlighters I own, just so you can get an idea of how it looks like compared to others you might own.

The first highlighter I compared it to is probably theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer. We probably all have this one in our collection. Compared to Moonstone, it is a bit more champagne coloured than Moonstone. They are both as buttery and pigmented though.

The most similar highlighter I have is the NYX Illuminator in the shade Ritualistic. From the shade, they are quite similar, the NYX highlighter is a lot more powdery and not as pigmented as the BECCA one. If you are on a budget and want I similar colour to Moonstone, I can indeed recommend the NYX Illuminator in Ritualistic. I do like that highlighter for more settle days.

The most different shades from Moonstone are the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in #01 and the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle.

Both of them are a lot more champagne, pinky, bronzy shades compared to Moonstone. The Laura Mercier is one of my favourite highlighters. It's a nice skintone shade for me and is not glittery at all. It gives an amazing sheen on the cheeks.

The darkes one of the bunch is the MAC MSF in Soft & Gentle. This is the most different shade compared to Moonstone from BECCA.

The picture above is away from direct light so you can get a better idea of the actual tones of the highlighters compared to each other. You can see there, the NYX Illuminator is similar to Moonstone, it is a bit more quite than Moonstone though. The other three are completely different shades, but always nice to see a comparison. At least to me. Btw, don't mind my arm hairs lol.

I really hope this was helpful to some of you who are deciding on whether to get BECCA Moonstone or not!
