NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams // REVIEW

Since I finally got my hands on a few more shades of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams I wanted to give you guys a short reviews as well as swatches of all the shades that I own. As far as I know, I own all of the nude shades that they have as, so I thought it would be helpful to see them all side by side as a comparison.

So the consistency of these is very creamy, they are definitely more of a mousse rather than a regular liquid lipstick which I personally like a bit better because they are not as drying as a liquid lipstick.

The applicator on the wand is a regular, stiff doe-foot applicator. Not my favourite doe-foot applicator of all time but for the price that these lip creams retail for, you can't complain.

I personally think that because the tube is quite small (8 ml / 0.27 fluid oz) and the consistency is more like a mousse, the product itself can dry out quite quickly which can be annoying if you really want to use them regularly because I could imagine you would have to re-purchase them quite a bit.

The wear is really nice, I would say they last about as long as a regular matte lipstick would. Definitely not comparable to the wear of a liquid lipstick but a lot more comfortable. They do transfer to a glass if you drink so if you wear them to a dinner or night out, you might have to re-apply them a few times.

I find that these feel extremely comfortable on the lips, I love the creamy texture to them on my lips and they don't dry my lips out either.

The colour selection is really great, there is a wide range of different nudes.. neutral, warm, browny nudes; there is also nice red shades and pink shades, a dark purple, they recently came out with a royal blue shade.. Definitely a huge shade range for everyone to find a nice colour.

f.l.t.r.: Cairo, Athens, Stockholm, Abu Dhabi, London, Copenhagen, Transylvania

My personal favourite shade is Abu Dhabi, I find it to be the perfect nude for my fair complexion. Transylvania is also a very nice bold shade for the fall/winter time.

I do have to say that the darker colours are a bit patchy so you definitely need a few layers of them, while the nudes are a lot more opaque (as you can see from the swatches above).

All in all I am a fan of these. If you love matte lips but can't deal with liquid lipsticks because of their very dry formular, you should definitely check out the Soft Matte Lip Creams!
