Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil // REVIEW

Hello beauties!

Since the colder months are upon us already, I thought it was the right time to talk about some lip oil to keep our lips smooth and moisturized.

I have heard so many people talk about the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil when it first came out in their original scent "Honey"which is the yellowish colour. Since then they added to the original one with the scents "Raspberry" and "Red Berry". With out of the three I got raspberry, the pink shade.

Packaging

The packaging to me is very sleek and classy looking, really nice and expensive. The product comes in the usual Clarins red cardboard packaging. The lip oil itself comes in a solid, square plastic bottle. It has quite a heavy feel to it which makes it feel a bit more luxurious. The lid is in gold plastic, just like the writing on the bottle itself.

As you can tell from the picture, the doe-foot applicator on this lip oil is absolutely massive. I have to say it is quite hard to actually get out of the bottle but I love the way it applies the product onto my lips. It feels really soft and nice. What I like to do it apply the normal side onto my bottom lip, then turn the doe-foot applicator and apply the rest on my bottom lip.

For my normal sized lips, it applies just the right amount of product, it's not too much as to where my lips are super sticky but also not too little where I don't even feel the product.

Performance

The raspberry lip oil does have a little tint to it, as you can see from the swatch on my hand. It does not really come off onto the lips though because usually your lips have a slight pinky colour anyway. It just tends to intensify your own lip colour a bit more.

The oil does tend to stay on your lips for quite a while, unless you drink or eat then it is going to come off, but the oily feel itself is still going to linger on your lips for a little longer.

I find that when you apply the oil, it is not really sticky. To me, it is a lot more sticky once it has come off of your lips and you are just left with the residue of the lip oil.

When it comes to actually keeping your lips smooth and moisturized, it does an amazing job. I personally love applying it onto my lips, it makes them look really plump from the glossy look it gives you, but it also keeps them nice and moisturized at the same time.

The smell of the product is not too strong. You can definitely smell it on your lips as well but not too badly, it does not linger around for too long or is too intense. It just gives a nice raspberry smell that tends to go away after a while.

All in all, I find that it is a great product for the winter time that I can absolutely recommend. If you don't have the extra money to spend on the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil, there are a few alternatives at the drugstore from brands like Milani, Essence or Kiko so maybe check out these too.
