Updated: Make-Up Routine for Glowy Skin in Winter

I thought it was time to show you my everyday make up products I use for a glowy and healthy looking skin in the cold winter months, especially for when you have dry skin like I do!

Disclaimer: Yes, I do use a lot of facial sprays, I am absolutely and utterly obsessed with them and I think that they make a huge difference in the way my make up looks and sits on my skin!

Skin Prep

First thing I do before my make up is go and wash my face with my Foreo Luna and the La-Roche Posay Toleriane Cleansing Milk.

After the cleansing, I put on my Daytox Hydrating H Serum which I might do a full review on in the future when I used it for a longer amount of time.
I let this sink in and then I go in with my trusty L'Oreal Skin Perfection moisturizer. If you read my skincare routine in 2015, you'd know that I love this stuff and have been using it forever now.

Before I apply any make up or primer I wait 5-10 minutes to let my moisturizer and serum really sink into my skin and hydrate it.

Priming

First thing I do before make up and after cleansing and moisturizing my skin is put on the MAC Strobe Cream for a glowy base.

After that I go in with my NYX Angel Veil primer on the nose and my forehead which are the two areas that my pores are the most visible and the texture of my skin is not as smooth as the rest of my face. Because this is more of a velvet to matte finish primer I only focus it on those two areas because I want my face to have a healthy glow instead of a matte finish.

Then I go in with my Mario Badescu Rosewater Spray to hydrate my face even more.

The Make-Up

After my skin is clean, moisturized and primed for the make up that is going on top, I go in with my Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in the lightest shade they do called "Fair Neutral" as my foundation and concealer. Because I have extremely fair skin, I have not come across a nice foundation to match my skin tone yet, this concealer is the closest to my skin colour that I found so far.
It is quite a bit drying so I do wish to find a nice foundation to match my fair skin, so do let me know any recommendations if you have any for me!

After that I set everything lightly with the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder to not take too much of the glow away, just to make sure bronzer and blush sit and blend nicely on top.

Then I go in with bronzer and blush, I use those two products differently all the time, depends on how I am feeling or how the weather is.

Then before I apply my highlighter, I spray my face again with the Mario Badescu Rosewater Spray to set everything in place and get rid of the powdery look.

For my highlighter I absolutely love to use the Topshop Beauty Glow in shade Polished, which is a cream highlighter that looks gorgeous on the skin and makes you glow like a goddess without looking to glittery or an obvious stripe on your cheekbones. I also like to take the rest I might have left on my finger to go over the chin and forehead to give it a slight sheen too.

After all of my face is done, I spray my entire face with the NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray because we love the glow and this product is really good. If I feel like it, I might go over with the Mario Badescu one more time. Don't judge me!

I finish off my eyes with a little bit of eyeshadow, mascara and inner corner highlight, I fill in my brows with the NYX Micro Brow Pencil which I love for a drugstore brow pencil, it is really good. And then my make up is done for the day!

I really hope you found this interesting and helpful, and I can't wait to see you next time.

xox, Julia
