Today's post is going to be a comparison of the Lasting Finish lipstick by Kate Moss from Rimmel in 107 and MAC's Diva. They are both matte finishes and have been talked about loads of time. Apparently Rimmel 107 is a dupe for MAC's Diva and so I have never bought Diva because I didn't want to spend 19,95€ on a lipstick that looks the same as the Rimmel Kate Moss in 107 that I already owned (which is only around 7€).
I looked at swatches online and they did seem very comparable but then it was 20% off of our local store that sells MAC Cosmetics so I did go ahead and spoil myself and finally got my hands on MAC's Diva lipstick. When I went home and looked at them in the tube I was like "Okay, they do look kind of similar" but when I swatched them on my hand, I instantly thought "Thank god I got Diva now."
Here is both of them swatched on my hand (left: Rimmel Kate 107, right: MAC Diva):
As you can see, the Rimmel lipstick is waaaay lighter than MAC's Diva lipstick. I would not necessarily call Rimmel 107 a "dupe". It's a very nice berry red shade but Diva is a much more rich, deep red and I love it. Don't get me wrong, 107 by Rimmel is as gorgeous really. I love wearing the Rimmel one and on the lips it does get a little darker (depending on the colour of your own lips of course, my lips are pretty pigmented so it's automatically going to be darker on my lips).
If you do have the money and already own Rimmel by Kate Moss in 107, I suggest you go to the MAC counter and go get yourself some Diva because it's absolutely gorgeous if you love dark, vampy red lips!
Hopefully this helps some of you and could give you an idea of how both of the lipsticks look swatched! (Maybe I'll add lip swatches of them soon!)
